WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

Denim as we know it today was invented for durable protection and work for miners and laborers. It served a need for tough men doing tough jobs, then evolved to become the epitome of cool and the official uniform for work and play.

Then things took a turn. Jeans became unbearable, stiff and way too expensive to be worn by anyone who ever lifted a weight or swung a hammer. And you had to wash them by hand — inside out — and didn’t dare put them in a dryer. 

It’s no wonder the world of denim had all but lost its importance in American culture and style.  

Revtown set out to change that. In 2018, after 20 years of developing cutting edge athletic apparel, our founders turned their attention and talents to denim. 

We mixed the durability of denim with the science of stretch-performance fabrics to create the most comfortable, yet toughest pair of jeans ever created.

Our jeans are designed in Pittsburgh, Pa., the city of grit and steel. We’re revelers who are dedicated to our craft and proudly stand by the quality of our product. Revtown jeans are built to work every day and play every night. 

And while we make jeans that you can get dirty, clean denim production is our priority. We produce our fabric at the greenest mill in the world — its environmental practices and restrictions are the strictest regulations in the denim industry. Our denim is sustainably dyed using shrimp shells, orange peels, and nut shells. This process uses 30% less energy, 50% less water and 70% less chemicals than traditional dying techniques across the industry. 100% of all waste is recycled into denim yarn or insulation for local housing. And we only work with certified cotton, ensuring that water is used efficiently, regulating the cotton’s soil health to meet high standards and protecting rights for farmers.
